About Me

My photo
Crafting is my passion - just call me a crafting insomniac. If I'm missing - you can find me in my "she-shed" or a craft store. My crafty alter-ego, Lola and I have loads of fun. I never thought I'd have an imaginary friend at my age - but in a house full of men - it's great to have a crafty sister to share all my crafty life and stitching adventures.

Post-it note gifts! Can't stop making them

Dear Lola,
It's so easy to love making these. They are practical as gifts, but whimsical at heart. I have been using the Suitcase Shaker Gift Card die from Queen and Company to make my little suitcases. Decorating them is fun. Any variety of stamps and dies are almost perfect. I highly suggest using the 110# card stock to create them so they have some heft and will hold up to being well-loved on someone's desk.

Check out my earlier post on how to make the post-it note pad covers. I'm thinking of learning how to post videos. I know this is crazy, Lola, but so many people are asking me for them. Not to mention, people are using my ideas and creating their own videos. That kind of hurts.

In the meantime, we will continue to craft and hang out in our happy place.

Post-It notepads with attitude

Dear Lola,

The craft room has stayed so busy during the pandemic. Our Creekside Masked Marauders are about to sew our 10,000th charity mask. That has kept me sane, but I had to create fun things too. While I have been sewing non-stop, I have spread my wings a bit and spent quite a bit of time creating paper crafts including cards, altered journals, and gifts.

My new favorite gifts to create are these fun Post-it note pads. They are definitely addictive. Here's a PDF with the instructions if you are interested. Post-it Note Instructions

Easter wreaths are fun to make.

Dear Lola,

I had so much fun creating this Easter/Spring wreath using the dies from Queen and Company. I created a donut by designing a circle within a circle in my Silhouette Cameo using a 12x12 sheet of white cardstock. It was easy to do, but could also easily be done with a large paper plate or by tracing a dinner plate. I created lots of colorful eggs in a variety of color combinations. I added floral dies from the Queen and Company foundations die set #2 and added some flowers from the foundations die set #9. Thrown in for fun are a butterfly, bunny and heart. I cut out the bow using my Silhouette Cameo. Of course, I had to add some enamel dots and other bling.

I have been completely addicted to bright colors, the Bring on Spring Die and Stamp Set from Queen and Company. The cheerful feeling I get from creating these projects is balm for my pandemic weary soul.

Hope I inspire others to create and if I do, please link back and share. We'd love to see what you are up to this spring.

Hugs,

Lori
